Montana Guest Farm

Berluda Mountain Manor, previously known as Montana Guest Farm, is set in the beautiful valley of Schoemanshoek, just outside the town of Oudtshoorn. It is conveniently situated only 15 km from the world famous Cango Caves, and the Swartberg Pass. Piet and Laura Schoeman recently bought back the land back that belonged to the Schoeman family years ago. The previous owners, who renovated the old manor house and other buildings with love and care, has been welcoming and entertaining guests at Montana for over 20 years.

This luxury guesthouse has two year-round outdoor pools that invite guests to enjoy some lazy afternoons in the beautiful gardens, with over 300 sunny days. Guests can enjoy one of the exciting activities on the farm, such as a working ostrich farm or a meerkat tour. For our active guests, a new hiking trail in the foothills behind the Mountain Manor, can be explored late afternoon or early morning.

The accommodation consists of 4 separate buildings set in lush gardens. Each room offers a view of the mountains or gardens with a private patio, free Wifi and safe and private parking. Our accommodation is suitable to accommodate solo travellers, individual travellers and families or groups.

Breakfast is enjoyed at the main restaurant at Berluda, within walking distance from the rooms at the mountain manor.
Berluda Mountain Manor is located close to numerous famous tourist attractions in the town of Oudtshoorn. Do not miss scenic Swartberg Pass, arguably one of the most magnificent mountain passes in South Africa. The historic road takes you over into the Great Karoo, to the quaint town of Prince Albert. Following the circular route back, the Meiringspoort Gorge awaits visitors with the famous waterfall, and just a stones’ throw away, the cosy town of De Rust. In addition, guests can visit the Cango Wildlife Ranch, as well as one of the many local wineries in the area, or one of the interesting museums in town. The Ostrich Emporium is a must see. Coffee shops in the centre of town invites you for afternoon breaks. Basically, Oudtshoorn is not an overnight stop, it is a destination in itself.
